Mould Making and Casting Company Lakeland Mouldings supply a mould making
service to people who wish to reproduce figurines, ornamental pieces,
fine art, cold cast resins, sculpture, statues ect. All the materials
used in our mould making and casting departments are specially selected
for each individual job, using our experience to tailor each package
to customer’s specific needs.
Original pieces of sculpture that may be very delicate
and have fine detail need to be handled with great care so a silicone
rubber block mould may be your first mould. From the block mould
you are then able to cast a resin or urethane master. The master
can then be tooled to make skin/ glove moulds that are held in a
support. The supporting case can be made of may different materials
but the most popular are fiberglass cases or urethane. It is often
more practical to cast from skin moulds as the demoulding of complicated
pieces from a rubber block mould can be difficult and there is a
greater chance of damaging the cast. A thinner mould is softer and
gives you more elongation to peel the silicone rubber from the cast
piece. |
